I was watching the 7 Samurai last night, the 1954 movie directed by Akira Kurosawa. When Master Samurai Kambel takes on the fight to defend peasants against the bandits, he is a different kind of leader. Brave, compassionate, able to assemble a diverse “team” of like minded samurai, driven by their passion for something bigger than themselves, yet simple human brothers having good laughs as well! The peasants are themselves only driven by fear. And they loose and loose each year more. Their village is on the verge of collapse.

While we are struck by the sudden violence of the tsunami on the Japanese coasts, and its consequences, we are reminded of the constant need to be grateful for who we are - especially in the biological light that we are already a rarity to have made it past the ovulation stage – and reminded to be grateful to have each other.

Japan, the 3rd largest economy in the world, still very much a non transparent society, may be on the verge of drastic changes as well.

While we strive for happier time, we may need to prepare ourselves as leaders to create a different working place. We may need to support the emergence of different kind of samurai leaders.

While keeping our business projects like great adventures to fulfill a useful mission and create wealth, what could we endeavor to make it more human, more team like, more able to provide stability and hope? Reinventing our way to collaborate.

Is it relevant to continue to accumulate so much that is unnecessary, in these times of drastic changes, or relevant to remind each other of our call for love and compassion to each other? Yet our obligations to the world as we know it remain often intact, and our self awareness to evolve may stagnate.

How could we support the emergence of different kind of samurai-leaders? how do you support the emergence of new leaders?

let’s defend our village, the Earth and its communities, to create a more sustainable approach with less fear, more determination to make it together in a different way!

Hi Hi !

Or at least, we think we should know where we are going…/.. we could lighten up – we could go for direction, not destination. We could invite in what the world seems to want for us, what it’s offering us right here, right now.” The invite for me is to reduce the stress factor in my life. To find a place of peacefulness.

What if we could reduce the overwhelming stress factor? what is needed? what do we need to reinvent day after day to make our working voyage happier?

i am convinced we can invent new working environments more meaningful and where the sense of direction is correlated to our purpose. What do you think? what do you sense?

from Fortune Magazine December 9th – http://management.fortune.cnn.com/2010/12/09/the-happiness-index-is-the-uk – Eleanor Bloxham

../…So I applaud the UK for taking on the challenge of constructing a happiness or well-being index, rather than simply sticking with the hand-me-down measure of GDP. Going through the process of thinking through what should be included will yield at least half the benefit. Then, what they’ll have to guard against is the issue with all measures — making sure people remember what the metric is really measuring — and what it is not.

Welcome to TGN new “Connections” blog! We have been around for more than 20 years working around the world in big and small companies, in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, both in corporate companies and in the private education sector.

We have a fundamental question to pose – what will make our working environment happier? We believe we are a great place to foster conversations around this topic.

2 years ago I was in Bhutan, this tiny country between India and China, where the political agenda of their newly formed democratic environment is “Happiness”. This morning I re-read an article about “Indigo Children”;they are also referred to as Gen Y. It described how we need to adjust our leadership and our coaching to their presence in the work place.. Coaching is often about anticipation, and we are glad to be of service if we can spark a conversation. Let us connect and continue the conversation.

Whether you are somebody we partner with, a manager, an executive, a teacher, a professional coach, a sport coach, a Human resource specialist, a colleague, a friend, a healer, an astrologist, a scientist, a philosopher ,a student, a seeker, or simply somebody who showed up here, we are very grateful for your presence.

Please JOIN the conversation! And see / hear / notice what we can create together!!!

I wish you happiness, no matter what your circumstances are, let’s keep us connected”
